Protesters gathered outside South Korea’s parliament building on Saturday to pile pressure on lawmakers ahead of a vote on President Yoon Suk Yeol’s impeachment after he briefly declared martial law on Tuesday. During a televised apology, Yoon said the decision came from his “desperation as president”.
