Mozambique inaugurates President-elect Daniel Chapo amid deadly unrest

President-elect Daniel Chapo is set to be sworn in Wednesday, more than three months after Mozambique’s disputed elections. Chapo’s main rival Venancio Mondlane is calling for Mozambicans to take to the streets while an ongoing police crackdown against demonstrators has caused more than 300 deaths, according a local civil society group.
