Macron and Modi tour Marseille as France and India push for geopolitical ‘independence’

French President Emmanuel Macron continued his efforts to forge a closer relationship with Indian Prime Minister Narendra Modi Tuesday, inaugurating India’s new consulate in Marseille on the Mediterranean coast. The two leaders are discussing a proposed economic corridor that would link India to Europe through the Middle East.
