Brazil prosecutor charges Jair Bolsonaro over failed coup plot

Brazil’s attorney general has charged Jair Bolsonaro and 33 others of conspiring to overthrow the government of President Luis Lula Inacio da Silva in January 2023. Bolsonaro is accused of criminal organisation, an attempted coup and an attempted abolition of the democratic state. He is also said to have been aware of a plot to kill Lula, his vice-president and a senior judge. Oliver Farry has more.
