Israel agrees to temporary extension of Gaza ceasefire

Israel has approved a temporary extension of the Gaza ceasfire that would last through the Muslim Ramadan and Jewish Passover periods. Hamas has previously rejected the idea of an extension, instead favouring the implementation of phase two of the ceasefire.
