The many hands behind Rio de Janeiro’s Carnival

Just a few minutes from the school parades in Rio de Janeiro’s Sambadrome, there’s a huge workforce stitching, fixing, sweeping up feathers and sequins, and assembling floats and instruments. Carnival creates some 50,000 jobs throughout the year, without taking into account its passionate volunteers.
