Moon lander Athena set for second lunar touchdown with rovers, hopping drone

US company Intuitive Machines will attempt its second Moon landing on Thursday targeting highland terrain near the Moon’s south pole. Its landing craft, Athena, is set to deploy three rovers, a unique hopping drone and a drill to search for ice and other chemicals beneath the lunar surface.
