On the streets of Governador Valadares, in the agricultural Brazilian state of Minas Gerais, references to the United States are everywhere. This wealthy town has become famous for the large number of residents who have left for the United States. Although US President Donald Trump has tightened his immigration policy, this change is unlikely to have a major impact on the flow of Brazilians to the US, according to experts and the authorities.
