Palestinian officials create vice president position under leader Mahmoud Abbas

The Palestine Liberation Organization (PLO) on Thursday voted in favour of creating a vice president position under Palestinian leader Mahmoud Abbas. It is the fist time the organisation has ever opened a number two role, a move that may pave the way for Abbas’ successor.
