France gives first supersonic Concorde jet historical monument status

The iconic aircraft, which revolutionised air travel with its supersonic speeds, entered commercial service in 1976 but was retired in 2003 after a tragic crash. French Culture Minister Rachida Dati said the plane’s preservation offering a glimpse into the country’s aeronautical expertise for future generations.
