Amnesty urges release of Rwandan opposition members
Amnesty International has demanded the immediate release of seven opposition members and a journalist whom Rwanda put on trial Thursday for seeking to undermine the government. The group was arrested in late 2021 after reportedly planning non-violent protest actions based on part of the book “Blueprint for Revolution” by Serbian writer Srdja Popovic. They face multiple charges including forming a criminal association and conspiracy to cause unrest. FRANCE 24’s Clément di Roma reports.
