Cannes Film Festival awards Palme d’Or to Iranian drama ‘It Was Just an Accident’

Iranian dissident filmmaker Jafar Panahi won the Palme d’Or at the Cannes Film Festival on Saturday (May 24) for “It Was Just an Accident”, using his acceptance speech to urge his country to unite for “freedom”.
