EU imposes additional duties on Chinese EVs

The EU on Tuesday announced an increase of 35.5 percent in tariffs on Chinese electric vehicles, on top of the 10 percent currently levied on car imports. The extra taxes, set to enter into force no later than Thursday, was the subject of much debate among EU members with strong opposition from Germany and Hungary amid fears of setting off a trade war.
