European Commission visit to New Delhi to bolster ties with India

European Union chief Ursula von der Leyen and her college of commissioners arrived in New Delhi, India, to hold talks with Prime Minister Narendra Modi and his Hindu nationalist government during a two-day trip. The delegation is expected to focus on increasing trade with the world’s most populous country, lowering tariffs to enter its rapidly expanding market, and strengthening resilient supply chains, with an eye on the Asia-Pacific and China’s growing regional profile.
