European Union prepares new sanctions on Russia over Ukraine war

French Foreign Minister Jean-Noël Barrot said Thursday, after a meeting with his US counterpart in Washington DC, that European countries are preparing a new round of sanctions against Russia. He described Vladimir Putin as the “sole obstacle” to peace in Ukraine.
