‘Extra Omnes,’ meaning ‘everybody out,’ has been pronounced to start the Conclave

The Master of Pontifical Liturgical Celebrations, Archbishop Diego Ravelli, uttered the famous Latin phrase “extra omnes,” meaning “everyone out.” All those without voting rights must now leave the Sistine Chapel, leaving only the 133 cardinals, Ravelli, and Vatican preacher Raniero Cantalamessa.
