French champagne industry baulks at Trump’s threat of mega 200% tariff

In Champagne, the French region from where the glamourous bubbly gets its name, makers of the sparkling wine are reeling at US President Donald Trump’s threat to slap a 200 percent tariff on the drink. Should the threat materialise, the average price for a bottle of the most affordable champagne would jump to €150.
