French lawmakers topple PM Barnier’s government in no-confidence vote

France’s parliament voted to oust the government of Prime Minister Michel Barnier in a no-confidence vote Wednesday. Barnier’s removal after three months in office means President Emmanuel Macron must choose a successor, as no new elections can be called within a year of last summer’s snap polls. Macron’s office announced that he will address the French on Thursday evening.
