Hamas releases first Israeli hostages after body of Shiri Bibas identified

On Saturday, Hamas began releasing Israeli hostages in Gaza in exchange for hundreds of Palestinian prisoners, marking the seventh hostage-prisoner swap under a fragile ceasefire.

Six Israeli hostages are set to be exchanged for 602 Palestinian prisoners. The release follows controversy over the identification of the body of Israeli hostage Shiri Bibas, whose remains were returned by Hamas on Friday.
