Irish general election: Housing crisis takes centre stage

Voters in Ireland will cast their ballots on Friday in an election that could shake up a century of political tradition. Instead of a typical left-right swing between governments, Irish voters have always put one of two centre-right parties into power. But for the first time in history a left wing party has been leading the opposition — and it says the country now has a real chance to usher in a new political era.
