Israel orders army to prepare ‘volontary’ departures from Gaza

Amid international condemnation, Donald Trump has spelled out more of his idea for the United States to take ownership of the Gaza Strip and resettle the Palestinians elsewhere. He said that Israel would “turn over” the territory when fighting was over, and no US troops would be needed on the ground. Earlier, Israel’s Defence Minister welcomed Trump’s suggestion, and said he had ordered the Israeli army to prepare a plan to allow residents to leave Gaza voluntarily.
