Israeli farmers bet on tequila to revive Gaza border

Under the echo of distant gunfire and explosions, Israeli farmers work the land along the Gaza border, striving to revitalise this southern region scarred by the deadly Hamas attack of 7 October 2023. Aviel and Eran are cultivating blue agaves, the plant used to make tequila. Their goal: to produce Israel’s first bottles of agave-based spirits.
