Kenya’s President Ruto visits China amid tariff pressure
President William Ruto arrived in Beijing on Tuesday for a five-day visit to strengthen Kenya’s growing relationship with China. Since 2013, Beijing has invested billions in Kenyan infrastructure, transforming its economy. Now, Ruto aims to leverage this partnership politically, advocating for deeper cooperation and a permanent African seat on the UN Security Council.
