Lebanon: Army reinforces troop presence in south, near Israeli border

Lebanon’s army is set to play a central role in the cease-fire deal between Israel and Hezbollah. Thousands of Lebanese troops have been deployed to southern Lebanon to help ensure Hezbollah militants end their armed presence there. It will be a major test for the Lebanese army that has been chronically underfunded and for years been in the shadow of Hezbollah in the country.
