Mexico: Volunteers uncover shocking cartel operations during search for missing persons
On March 5, a group of families searching for missing relatives stumbled upon a chilling discovery at a ranch located about an hour from Guadalajara, Mexico’s second-largest city. They uncovered dozens of pairs of shoes, bags, and burned human remains—pointing to the possibility that the location had been used by a cartel as both a training ground and a place of execution. These volunteers, now continuing their search with limited trust in the authorities, rely heavily on their own resources. Report by Quentin Duval and Aurore Bayoud.
