Negotiators fail to secure drought deal at Saudi-hosted UN talks

Parties from 196 countries and the European Union failed on Saturday to reach an agreement on how to respond to drought at UN talks in Saudi Arabia. The talks came after the partially failed biodiversity talks in Colombia, the failure to reach a deal on plastics pollution in South Korea and a climate finance deal developing nations deemed insufficient at COP29 in Azerbaijan.
