Outgoing Blinken cautious but ‘hopeful’ for ceasefire in Gaza

With one month left before he leaves office, outgoing Secretary of State Antony Blinken said on Wednesday he was “hopeful” of brokering a ceasefire between Israel and Hamas in Gaza, one day after the Palestinian militant group said a deal was “closer than ever before” in the latest talks.
