Police arrest Istanbul mayor over alleged corruption and terror links
Turkish police have arrested Istanbul mayor Ekrem Imamoglu, the man widely seen as President Recep Tayyip Erdogan’s biggest rival. The detention is allegedly part of an investigation into corruption and links to terrorism. It comes a day after a university revoked Imamoglu’s diploma, disqualifying the opposition figure from running in the next presidential race. Andrew Hilliar has more.
