“Racism in France has always been a question of anti-migrant and anti-Muslim bias”

A Frenchman was remanded in custody on Thursday over the racist killing of his Tunisian neighbour, in what prosecutors say is the first time a far-right attack has been classed as terrorism. Saturday’s shooting in the town of Puget-sur-Argens in southern France sparked fresh concerns about rising racism in France, which is home to the largest Muslim community in the European Union.
