Salomé Zourabichvili: Georgia’s first female president

Outgoing Georgian President Salomé Zourabichvili became the country’s first female president in 2018 with the support of the governing party Georgian Dream. Now, six years later, with the ruling party becoming more pro-Russian despite its promises of further European integration, pro-EU Zourabichvili is pushed out of the presidential palace to make way for Mikheil Kavelashvili, a party loyalist.
