Senegal: Fifth former official indicted on corruption charges
In Senegal, a political reckoning appears to be underway. President Bassirou Diomaye Faye, elected last year on an anti-corruption wave, is making good on his promise to clean house. Hidden debts, exposed by the IMF and the Court of Auditors, now push national debt to nearly 100% of GDP. And in just two weeks, three ex-officials have been indicted by the High Court of Justice.
