Sudan: The price of reconstruction

In Khartoum, destroyed bridges, power outages, dry water stations, and looted hospitals highlight the devastating impact of two years of war on infrastructure. Authorities estimate reconstruction costs in the hundreds of billions of dollars, but continued fighting and drone strikes on power stations, dams, and fuel depots make recovery in the capital and beyond unlikely in the short term.
