Trump administration to cut half of Department of Education workforce

Five days after taking office as US Education Secretary, Linda McMahon, said on Tuesday she aims to cut nearly 50 percent of the Department of Education’s workforce, initiating President Donald Trump’s plan to devolve the department’s powers to state governments.
