Tunisia: Potatoes becoming out of reach for consumers
For several weeks in Tunisia, there has either been no potatoes available in markets or they have been very expensive. To manage the problem, authorities have ramped up seizures of illegal stockpiling and have set a fixed price for potatoes. But the problem isn’t just linked to speculation—it’s also been a bad harvest this year. Our journalists Lilia Blaise and Hamdi Tlili went to investigate.
