US federal workers face uncertainty as Musk job deadline arrives
As Elon Musk continues his attempts to drastically slash US government spending, federal employees were forced to decide on Monday whether to report their work achievements to the billionaire tycoon’s Department of Government Efficiency (DOGE), or risk losing their jobs. Certain government agencies, including the FBI and the State Department, instructed their employees to ignore DOGE’s request, but US President Donald Trump said on Monday that those who do so should be considered “semi-fired”.
