US, Russia to discuss Ukraine in Saudi Arabia with Zelensky sidelined

Senior US and Russian diplomats are set to meet in Saudi Arabia on Tuesday to begin bilateral talks that have spread alarm throughout Europe. The delegations have framed the meetings as a first step to repair frayed relations between both countries, but Ukraine and its allies fear that scheduled preliminary talks on ending the war in Ukraine could lead to an agreement made over their heads.
