World Food Program wars 1 million more Somalians face food insecurity

One million people in Somalia risk being pushed further into food insecurity, adding to the 3.4 million already facing critical levels of hunger. The World Food Program advises that a combination of drought and inflation has left a quarter of the population without anything to eat. This comes just three years after the country faced the brink of famine caused by the longest drought ever recorded in its history. Hundreds of thousands of people are at risk of losing their lives across countries such as Somalia, Sudan, Ethiopia, and Niger, in undernourished communities. Jean-Martin Bauer, Director of Food Security and Nutrition Analysis at the World Food Program, joins us for a discussion on the topic.
