Xi meets Biden, says China ready to work with Trump for ‘smooth transition’ of bilateral ties

At a meeting on the sidelines of an Asia-Pacific summit in Peru Saturday, Chinese President Xi Jinping told outgoing US President Joe Biden that Beijing is ready to work with the incoming Trump administration for a “smooth transition” of China-US ties as the president-elect’s inclusion of China hawks in his team stirs fears of a return to tensions.
